Pi Collection. La Guarida Editions
When we are choosing a children’s book, either to give as a gift or for our children to enjoy, one of the first things we look at is the recommended age. This information from the book is important since, depending on the age, the story will be more complex or simpler, and it will have more or less illustrations with more or less details.
However, many young readers who have a fondness and taste for reading ignore this fact of the books and only look at whether they may like the story or not. For this reason, the Pi collection was born , from the publishing house La Guarida Ediciones, of which today we discover a little more.
La Guarida Editions
There are numerous publishers dedicated entirely to the child and youth sector or just children. Many of these publishers are large companies that have hundreds of collections and thousands of books, which we already talked about in a previous post .
However, there is a very high percentage of children’s publishers that are not so well known and that have fewer books, but all of them full of fantastic stories and very careful illustrations. La Guarida Ediciones is one of those smaller publishing houses but with an incredible job behind it. This publishing house, as indicated by its own creators: “was born, from love and enthusiasm, with the idea of making books to stimulate, entertain, discover …”.
The objective of the books of La Guarida Ediciones is none other than to seek the emotions of children through the pages of the books and the possibility that they dream by reading their stories. One of the most fantastic ideas that this publisher has is, as they themselves indicate, “to bet on the most advanced technology that exists: imagination”, for the creation and dissemination of their children’s books.
This publisher has several collections to its credit, however, today we want to show you the one that, in our opinion, is the most striking and interesting.
The Pi collection
In 2015, La Guarida Ediciones created this fantastic collection. And what is different about other collections from other publishers? The clue is in your name.
The Pi collection is not just any title, but refers to the number Pi: 3.14. And that figure is, specifically, the ages collected by the books that are within the collection. As the publishing house itself indicates, “you will find stories for 3-year-old boys and girls; or 2 and a half years; maybe 5-something; maybe almost 4; 14 months? ” .
A collection that is committed to leaving freedom when children choose a book, since each person is different from the rest and, certainly, it is complex to indicate a specific age to a story.
As we said before, the collection began in 2015 with only two books but, as of today, it already has 14 different titles.
What kind of titles are within the Pi collection ?
Different stories are included in this fantastic collection. Some of them poetic, others just full of illustrations where words are not necessary, others with music and joy in all its pages … A combination for all tastes.

Alvaro jumping
As you may well guess from his title, Álvaro’s favorite hobby is jumping. He spends day and night jumping and jumping. One day, at the fair in his town, he chooses an attraction to get on and enjoy. And, how could it be otherwise, choose the trampoline. But it is that Álvaro begins to jump, to jump and to jump and much higher than you can imagine.
A very simple text but with a lot of rhythm and some fun illustrations accompany the unusual format of a children’s book as it is a totally vertical book that the little ones will love.
The four songs
The poetry and the illustrations of the book are the main protagonists in this fantastic illustrated album. In a totally different way from what has been published so far, the author of the book shows, page by page, the different seasons of the year with various poems. Among its verses, the little ones will be able to know the elements that are related to each of them.
The illustrations in the book are eye-catching and fun, so children’s attention will immediately be caught between the musicality of the poetry and its illustrations.
